Zoe (president) studies cognitive science and philosophy at UCLA. Inspired by an interdisciplinary course on the philosophy, history, and science of the mind during her freshman year, she founded The Quale to continue the quest for qualia. Zoe loves to participate in ongoing researches in cognitive science, both as a subject and a researcher. She is currently growing three Giant Sequoias in her dorm room.
Spencer (public relations) is a Philosophy Major atUCLA. He is largely motivated to explore the Kantian question what is man? in terms of modern scientific and philosophical considerations of the mind and brain. His interests include clinical pharmacology, free will, “the self”, consciousness, and perception.
Jone Bacinskaite (Event Coordinator) studies neuroscience at UCLA. She is interested in how the mind creates our perception of the world, and how that perception can be altered by drugs and neurotechnology. Jone loves playing and listening to music, dancing ballroom, volunteering, and is constantly listening to audiobooks.
Deanna (Editor) is a second-year neuroscience major at UCLA who loves to write and read popular science. Her main reading interests include astronomy, evolutionary biology, and neuroscience. She hopes to pursue a career in academia to continue learning about the brain.
